What Is Spot Concealing?

Spot concealing is a targeted technique where concealer is applied only to specific areas of concern—blemishes, redness, dark spots—rather than to the entire face.

Unlike full-face concealing or foundation coverage, spot concealing keeps the rest of the skin bare or lightly covered for a natural result. The technique is central to the 'your skin but better' aesthetic: covering imperfections while letting natural skin texture show through everywhere else. It requires a slightly thicker, more pigmented concealer formula than an under-eye concealer—enough to cover in one or two thin layers without creasing or cracking. The product is applied directly to the spot with a small brush or fingertip and blended at the edges only, not dragged across the surrounding skin. Setting with a micro-dusting of powder extends wear over blemishes and textured areas.

Tips

  • Use a small concealer brush for precise application without spreading product unnecessarily.
  • Blend only the edges of the spot, not the center, to avoid disturbing the coverage.
  • Set with a tiny amount of loose powder pressed (not swept) over the spot for longer wear.
