What Is Glow Drops?
Glow drops are liquid highlight or illuminating concentrates that can be mixed into skincare, primer, or foundation to add a luminous, lit-from-within finish to the skin.
Glow drops are one of the most versatile products in a makeup collection. A few drops mixed into moisturizer or foundation add an all-over radiance without the visible shimmer of traditional highlighter. Applied on top of makeup with a sponge, they create a dewy, glass-skin finish. Used alone on bare skin, they give a natural glow for no-makeup days. The formula is typically a thin liquid with fine light-reflecting particles—pearl, gold, or rose gold tones are most common. Glow drops gained mainstream popularity with the rise of the dewy skin trend and products like Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter. They are now a staple category with options at every price point.
Tips
- Mix one to two drops into your foundation for an all-over glow, or apply on top of makeup on the cheekbones for a targeted highlight.
- Choose the right tone for your skin—pearl and champagne for fair to medium skin, gold and bronze for medium to deep skin.
- Less is more. Start with one drop and build. Too much can make skin look greasy rather than glowing.
