Glamlite is a Los Angeles–based indie cosmetics brand founded in 2018 by Gisselle Hernandez, a Dominican-born, undocumented-immigrant-turned-CEO who launched the brand with her last $1,000 after being rejected for 47 small business loans. The breakout moment came in December 2018 with the Pizza Palette — an 18-shade eyeshadow palette in a hyper-realistic pizza-slice case that sold out within 48 hours, racked up $50,000 in its first 24 hours, and became one of the most-screencapped indie launches of the late-2010s makeup era.

Since then Glamlite has built an $80 million brand around bold, playful, Latina-led color cosmetics — lip kits, mirror-shine glosses, food-themed palettes, and licensed collections with Barbie, Kellogg's, Hershey's, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and Nickelodeon. The brand is Black Latina–owned and LGBTQ+-operated, and remains a touchstone for inclusive indie beauty that competes with much bigger names on creativity and engagement rather than budget.
