Maximalist Italian glamour as a complete beauty wardrobe.

Italy·Founded 2014·by Gucci (parent house founded 1921 by Guccio Gucci)

Gucci Beauty is the cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance line of Italian fashion house Gucci, founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence in 1921. Gucci first attempted beauty in 2014 under Procter & Gamble, and was then licensed to Coty Inc. in 2016 as part of P&G's prestige-beauty divestment. The real reinvention came in 2019 under creative director Alessandro Michele, whose 58-piece Rouge à Lèvres Voile launch — featuring vintage-Hollywood-inspired packaging and a deliberately imperfect, gap-toothed campaign aesthetic — turned Gucci Beauty into a maximalist counterpoint to the minimalist clean-beauty wave that dominated that year.

In 2023 Kering — Gucci's parent company — moved beauty in-house under Kering Beauté, led by CEO Raffaella Cornaggia. Gucci's license with Coty runs until 2028, when a 50-year exclusive deal with L'Oréal Luxe takes over. Today Gucci Beauty is best known for Rouge à Lèvres Voile and Rouge à Lèvres Matte lipsticks, the L'Obscur mascara (a cult MUA favorite), and the Mémoire d'une Odeur and Bloom fragrance families. The positioning is unapologetic Italian theatricality — color, gold, and a deep tie to the runway story Gucci tells each season.
