Carter Beauty launched in August 2018 as the cosmetics line from Marissa Carter, the Dublin-based beauty therapist who had already built Cocoa Brown Tan into a self-tan empire stocked in over 20 countries. After scaling Cocoa Brown from her laundry room in 2006 into a global tanning brand worn by Kourtney Kardashian, Cardi B, and Ariana Grande, Carter turned her attention to color cosmetics — building a 100-plus SKU range covering foundation, eyeshadow, lip colour, and brow products at accessible drugstore pricing.

The range is 100 percent cruelty-free and PETA-approved, with a heavy focus on multi-use formulas and trend-driven palettes that travel well from Instagram tutorials to everyday wear. Carter Beauty became the first Irish cosmetics brand to secure an in-store listing at Walmart, with a launch across 1,500 stores in 47 US states, and is now distributed through Boots and pharmacy retailers across Ireland, the UK, and beyond — a rare independent Irish brand to break into the US mass market.
