What Is Magnetic Lashes?

Magnetic lashes are false eyelashes that attach using tiny magnets instead of lash glue, either by sandwiching natural lashes between two strips or using magnetic eyeliner.

Magnetic lashes come in two systems. The original version uses two magnetic strips that sandwich your natural lashes between them—one strip above and one below. The newer and more popular system uses a magnetic eyeliner containing iron oxide particles; the lash strip has magnets along the band that snap onto the liner. The magnetic eyeliner method is easier for beginners because it works like applying regular eyeliner, then simply pressing the lash strip into place. These lashes are reusable (typically 30+ uses with care) and avoid the mess and irritation of lash glue.

Tips

  • Magnetic eyeliner lashes are easier for beginners than sandwich-style magnetics.
  • Apply the magnetic liner slightly thicker than usual so the magnets have more surface to grip.
  • Clean the magnets after each use with micellar water to maintain grip strength.
