What Is Brow Soap?
A brow styling technique that uses a bar of glycerin soap or a dedicated brow soap product to sculpt, lift, and hold brow hairs in place for a fluffy, feathered look.
Brow soap, also called soap brows, became a staple after makeup artists shared the backstage trick of swiping a spoolie across a damp bar of glycerin soap and brushing it through brows. The soap coats each hair with a flexible hold that keeps brows lifted and feathered all day. Dedicated brow soap products have since launched with added waxes and conditioning ingredients. The technique works especially well for people with thick or unruly brows who want a groomed, laminated look without a salon appointment. Transparent soap avoids white residue, while tinted versions double as a light brow color.
Tips
- Use a clean spoolie, mist it lightly with water, swipe it over a glycerin soap bar, and brush upward through brows.
- Avoid soaking the spoolie or the soap will leave white flakes. A light mist is all you need.
- If soap alone does not hold your brows, set with a clear brow gel on top.
