Clarins is a premium makeup brand from France, founded in 1954 by Jacques Courtin-Clarins. It's best known for its Lip Comfort Oil, Joli Rouge Lipstick and Double Serum.

Clarins was founded in Paris in 1954 by Jacques Courtin-Clarins, a French medical student who opened a beauty institute on rue Tronchet and built the brand around plant-based actives long before clean beauty became a category. The company is still family-owned (rare among prestige beauty houses), now led by his grandsons Prudence and Virginie Courtin, and the Clarins family also owns My Blend, Mugler, and Azzaro Parfums.

The makeup line lives in the shadow of the skincare blockbusters Double Serum and Beauty Flash Balm, but the Lip Comfort Oil is a runaway dupe target that defined the lip oil category — the format and finish that virtually every drugstore lip oil chases. Other heroes include the Joli Rouge lipstick range, Ombre 4 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes, and the Bronzing Compact. Clarins is sold at Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy's, and most prestige department stores worldwide.
