What Is Color Correcting?
Color correcting is using complementary colors (e.g. green for redness, peach for dark circles) to neutralize discoloration before or under concealer and foundation.
Color theory applies: green cancels red (acne, redness), peach or orange cancels blue or purple (dark circles), yellow can brighten. Correctors are applied in a thin layer under concealer or foundation. They help achieve an even base without heavy coverage.
Tips
- Use a thin layer; too much corrector can look ashy or cakey.
- Peach or orange for under-eye; green for redness.
- Blend well and follow with concealer or foundation.
