"The closest Boy Brow dupe available. Same natural, fluffy finish and flexible hold. The brush is slightly bigger but the effect on brows is nearly identical. Best everyday brow gel at the drugstore."

Essence Make Me Brow Gel Mascara is the original Glossier Boy Brow dupe and remains one of the best brow products under $5. Both are tinted brow gels with tiny brushes designed to coat individual hairs, add subtle color, and lock brows in a brushed-up shape. The formulas are nearly indistinguishable: same lightweight texture, same flexible hold, same natural-looking finish that doesn't crunch or flake. The only meaningful difference is the brush — Glossier's wand has a slightly more refined shape that's easier for beginners. Essence's brush is functionally identical but very slightly bushier. The shade ranges differ slightly but both cover the most-needed colors (blonde, brunette, brown-black). For $20 less per tube, Essence is the obvious value pick. Glossier is worth it only if you specifically love the brand's aesthetic. For everyone else, Essence delivers the exact same brow effect and you can replace it three times for the price of one Boy Brow.
