Viseart

Triple-milled French shadow for working artists.

France·Founded Early 1990s (disputed)

Viseart is a French-American brand built for people who do makeup for a living. Its eyeshadows are triple-milled in France and pressed into palettes curated as complete working gradients — bone through to black, or a full range of a single tonal family — rather than as trend collections. The result is the buttery, dense matte formula that made the Neutral Mattes palette a fixture in professional kits on film sets, runways and red carpets.

The brand was pro-only for years before Sephora picked it up in 2014 and moved it into broad retail, and it is still privately owned with a small team running its own lab and factory. Anastasia V. Sparrow leads it as CEO and Global Creative Director. Viseart is cruelty-free but not fully vegan by choice, since it uses carmine in some palettes for reds it does not think can be matched otherwise. Public sources disagree on the founding year, with reports ranging from the early 1990s to 2000.

Brand Philosophy

Build palettes the way an artist actually works — full gradients that solve a job, not seasonal shade stories that expire.
