Best Makeup Products Under $10 That Actually Work
By Viktoria @vioda.makeup ·
I've tested hundreds of drugstore products. These are the ones under $10 that I genuinely reach for over luxury alternatives.
Proof that great makeup doesn't have to be expensive. These under-$10 products perform like products three times their price.
Why Price Doesn't Equal Quality
After testing hundreds of dupes, the pattern is clear: price is not a reliable indicator of performance. Some $5 products outperform $50 ones. The difference between drugstore and luxury is usually packaging, marketing, and shade range—not formula quality. Many drugstore brands are owned by the same parent companies as their luxury counterparts and share similar technology.
The products on this list are ones I've used extensively, compared to their luxury counterparts, and would genuinely repurchase. No fillers, no products that are 'good for the price'—these are products that are just good, full stop.
Best Under-$10 Face Products
e.l.f. Power Grip Primer ($10) holds makeup in place all day—it's the most recommended Milk Hydro Grip dupe for a reason. The tacky, gel formula grips foundation and keeps everything locked in for 8+ hours. e.l.f. Camo CC Cream ($7) provides medium coverage with SPF and a natural finish that rivals products at four times the price.
For setting, NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray ($9) competes head-to-head with Urban Decay All Nighter. And Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder ($8) sets without looking cakey—perfect for under-eyes and the T-zone. These four products give you a complete base routine for under $35.
Best Under-$10 Eye Products
Essence Lash Princess Mascara ($5) is possibly the best mascara value in existence—comparable to Too Faced Better Than Sex in volume and drama. NYX Epic Ink Liner ($9) is a pigmented, fine-tip liquid liner that rivals KVD and Stila at a fraction of the cost.
For eyeshadow, e.l.f. Bite-Size Eyeshadow palettes ($3) are shockingly good for the price—buttery, pigmented, and blendable. They won't replace a high-end palette with 12 shades, but for a quick everyday look, they're perfect. Milani Most Loved Mattes ($10) is a solid neutral palette with excellent payoff.
Best Under-$10 Lip Products
Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon ($9) is a long-wear lip product that genuinely lasts through meals—comparable to more expensive long-wear formulas. It's comfortable, comes in a huge shade range, and the crayon format makes application foolproof.
NYX Butter Gloss ($5) is the gloss that beauty editors secretly prefer over $30 options. Creamy, non-sticky, and available in every shade imaginable. And Essence Lip Liner ($2) is the most underrated product in the drugstore—it's smooth, pigmented, and prevents lip products from feathering. At $2, buy five shades.
Best Under-$10 Cheek Products
e.l.f. Putty Blush ($6) blends beautifully and lasts all day—the cream-to-powder formula sits naturally on the skin. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso ($8) is the OG NARS Orgasm dupe and still one of the best blushes at any price point.
For bronzer, Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer ($10) has a natural, warm finish that works on fair to medium skin tones. The coconut scent is divisive but the formula is beloved for good reason—it blends easily and never looks muddy. For deeper skin tones, NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan ($9) provides a true contour shade.
Building a Full Face Under $50
Here's a complete makeup routine using only products from this list: Power Grip Primer ($10) + Camo CC Cream ($7) + Fit Me Powder ($8) + Milani Baked Blush ($8) + Lash Princess Mascara ($5) + NYX Butter Gloss ($5) + Essence Lip Liner ($2) = $45 for a full face that looks like it cost $200+.
Add the NYX Setting Spray ($9) and you're at $54—still less than a single luxury foundation. Every product on this list has been tested against its luxury counterpart and earned its spot. Check our individual dupe pages for the detailed comparisons.
